Stemwave therapy

General Information

StemWave therapy is a non-invasive regenerative treatment that uses high-energy acoustic (sound) waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It is primarily used to treat chronic pain, inflammation, and musculoskeletal injuries by "awakening" dormant cells to repair damaged tissue.

How It Works

The therapy utilizes a process called mechanotransduction, where the body converts the mechanical energy from sound waves into cellular responses.

Focused Energy

High-frequency acoustic waves penetrate deep into tissues—up to four inches—targeting specific injured areas with pinpoint accuracy.

Micro-trauma:

The waves create controlled micro-traumas that trigger the body’s natural inflammatory response, signaling the brain to send healing agents like growth factors and mesenchymal stem cells to the site.

Enhanced Circulation:

Treatment can increase blood flow to the area by up to 30%, improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients necessary for repair.

Conditions Treated

StemWave is highly versatile and frequently used for:

Joint Pain: Arthritis, knee pain, shoulder issues (rotator cuff), and hip discomfort.

Tendon & Ligament Issues: Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and tennis/golfer's elbow.

Chronic Pain: Persistent back and neck pain, sciatica, and nerve-related pain like neuropathy.

Recovery: Sports-related strains, sprains, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

What to Expect During Treatment

Duration:

  • A typical session is fast, usually lasting between 5 and 15 minutes.

Procedure:

  • A conductive gel is applied to the skin, and a handheld applicator is moved over the target area. Patients may feel a "tapping" or "pulsating" sensation.

Immediate Feedback:

  • The device can help identify damaged tissue; waves passing over healthy tissue are generally painless, while they may cause minor discomfort when passing over inflamed or injured areas.

Results:

  • While some patients feel immediate relief, a full course usually consists of 8 to 12 sessions for long-lasting results.

Benefits Over Traditional Care

  • Non-Invasive: Requires no surgery, needles, or anesthesia.
  • Drug-Free: Provides pain relief without the side effects or risks of long-term medication use.
  • No Downtime: Most patients can return to normal daily activities immediately after a session.
